I recently went to witness the notorious annual ‘Ink N Iron’ festival at the ‘Queen Mary’ in
The day started early and I was accompanied by the lovely pin up model, ‘Tamera Von Tart’ and hair accessory stylist, Nicole from ‘NicCoCo Creations’. Of course we were running a bit late, but that didn’t stop us from looking classic. We knew we had to start the day right with a quick bite to eat- a lot had to be covered and we needed all the energy we could get. We arrived to the famous ship, but found ourselves walking a bit from the parking structure to the entrance. It was a workout especially since we had to rock heels, but we managed. We checked in and arrived to what seemed a world of its own- a lot of talented, good looking people and classic cars.
Music was blaring LIVE on stage and Nicole had to make a quick stop at the “Queen’s Court” to give some beauties flowers for their hair. Afterwards we made it into the tattoo convention which featured according to the website, "280 of the best tattoo artists from 30 states and 25 countries representing all the tattoo styles”. Tamera had a photoshoot set up with the saavy Susana Vestige of 'Vestige Photography' and the recognition got her another shoot with Steve Pure of "Team Rockstar Images" where I got to meet the adorable "Suicide Girl Tita".
We made our way to the bar in the Grand Saloon where bartender Jose made us a concoction of blueberry vodka and cranberry juice- it was BOSS! We moved down out to the dome to check out the classic cars and thats where my heart stayed. There were Kustoms, Hot Rods, Convertibles, Trucks, Trailers and much much more! I was like a kid in a candy shop.
After a few pictures we decided to mingle with the crowds and vendors. Tamera introduced me to Founder 'B. Sinclair' of 'Bombshells Against Bullying' (blog coming soon) which is a GREAT cause with beautiful women. Across the way I met pin up sweetheart, 'Kandy K' from 'Steady Clothing' who offered some very nice eye candy...Oh! and the clothes were nice too. She introduced me to the oh so handsome Doug who was kind enough to model the menswear.
All the talking made for a late lunch, but allowed us to meet up with Tamera Von Tart's dashing men (friends that is) Rommel and Shawn. These men were looking dapper and made the start of the evening exciting. After drinking, mingling, walking around the top decks and visiting the 'Observatory Bar' we decided to work our way back downstairs and witness, 'Iggy and the Stooges' perform. Making it a perfect end to a RAD day.
