
The week we celebrated President's Day, which falls on the 3rd Monday each February, to honor our first President George Washington born on February 22nd and the face on our dollar bills. President's Day also salutes ALL Presidents including Abraham Lincoln born February 12th and the subject of the Oscar nominated Steven Spielberg movie, Lincoln.
And Motown legend, Smokey Robinson, celebrated a birthday on February 19th as did Seal ("Kiss From A Rose"), Lou Christie ("Lightnin' Strikes") and Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.
Pop Princess, actress and now fashion designer, Rihanna, turns 25 on February 20th.
On February 21st, record and film mogul and philanthropist, David Geffen turns a year older. Geffen created his own record label, Asylum Records, in 1970 and signed The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan among others. In 1980, he formed Geffen Records, signed Donna Summer, John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Yoko turned 80 on February 18th. Through the years, Geffen Records also released albums from Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses and his former girlfriend Cher.
