February 25th history includes the birthday of a Beatle, GEORGE HARRISION, who would have been 70!! Here's a song that was initially recorded on George's 26th birthday in 1969 and went on to be recorded by Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner and so many others that it is the second most recorded Beatles song (after "Yesterday")...this is "Something"....
And February 25th, 1964, the month after he turned 22, Cassius Clay, became the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion defeating Sonny Liston. Clay was definitely the under dog as Liston had won his two previous fights in the first round. In the pre-fight press, Clay declared he would "float like a butterfly and sting like a bee!" And he did, defeating Liston in the 6th round and announced "I must be 'The Greatest'!" A week later, Clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali. Here's highlights of that fight, one of the greatest sports moments in history....
