Sunday Morning, Edie Gonzales will walk in Lupus Race for Life just like she has every year since 2007. She began walking with her Sister Joyce Lynn who was stricken with Lupus and they walked together, not only at the events but through the daily struggles of the disease. In 2009, Joyce Lynn lost her battle with Lupus but Edie continues to walk not only for her Family but others as well. Fernando Ruelas, co-founder of the infamous Dukes So. Cal Car Club in 1962. Gone too soon, two years ago this coming Monday in 2010 after valiantly fighting Cancer. Today DUKES pays tribute to Mr. Ruelas with a Memorial Cruise that begins at THE SHOP in Long Beach and concludes at the Queen of Heaven Cemetary in Rowland Heights. All Car Clubs welcome to join.

October is Here!!! With it comes Community Events like Walk Now for Autism Speaks-Orange County, Alzeimer's Walk and Festival in Ontario and Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes in Buena Park! I had the honor of being part of my friend Laurice' Poker Fundraiser last month. She walks not only for her late Father but for herself as well. My friend Juan Romero, owner of Primera Taza Coffee Shop in Boyle Heights, gave me a heads up that the Community is offering a FREE Health Fair Saturday 10/13/12 at Hollenbeck Park (11a-3p).
