    It's true...4 hours a night just isn't enough.  Slow Jams Radio is here!!  24 hours of nothing but Slow Jams.  You can listen to Slow Jams Radio on 92.3FM digital channel 2, IF you have an HD Radio.  My show is from 10AM-2PM every day on Slow Jams Radio, and I want you to listen!

    How's that for a headline?! And you wouldn't expect that from me. But, I have received quite a bit of response about the link, so I'll post it here for a while.

    Jane magazine has offered this feature on breast health and acceptance. Acceptance of what? Well acceptance of what normal, non-airbrushed women look like. The amazing thing is, many women volunteered to take pictures.

    Not recommended for office viewing. They are nude, you were warned.Oh, and no, there is not a chance in h**l I will be partcipating    .

    Things we have been talking about...


    20 Questions

    (Well, not quite 20, but here are a few I was asked to answer for my DJ page...)

    Growing up I always wanted to be: An actress/singer/dancer, or marriage counselor

    Nicknames I’ve had: Lala (from the family) and Chaka in high school when I had some BIG hair

    I have always wanted to try: sleeping for 8 hours in a row, I hear it's heaven. :)

    I would love to have lunch with: The Dalai Lama, Simon Cowell, Barack Obama, and Prince

    My favorite TV shows are: The Sopranos (I can't stand violence and I still LOVE this show!) and American Idol..can't help it!!!

    3 things I can't live without: My son, music, a way to learn something new

    When I am not at work I can be found: running around doing Mommy stuff

    The best thing about my job is: talking with people about things that really matter in their life, who they love, who they can't live without, how they see the world and why. And of course,,,playing music. :)

    Favorite artists or group: Prince, Chaka, Patti LaBelle. This is always the hardest question for me, because my list of what I love could go on for days!!!!!

    What's in your CD player:     Either "The Time" Megamix from Michael Erickson or A "Music Together" CD from my sons music class. I cant remember which one.

    Favorite vacation spot: At the edge of the ocean anywhere or in a grove of redwood trees.

    Things that annoy me: People who are oblivious to how their actions affect others

     
    I've always loved music. When I was little I used to tape my favorite songs off the radio and played them for anyone who would listen. In 1987, I got my first job on the air. Two years later I got my big break at KMEL in San Francisco. I am especially proud of the work we did to bring awareness to the Stop the Violence movement. 

    My favorite part about being on the air is playing dedications. I love to help create memories.

    My greatest joy is my son. I can't believe how fast he has grown already!!!

    People who have inspired me... Rev. Cecil Williams by his work in the community and his ability to bring people together. My high school drama teacher, Dave Motroni who gave me a safe place to make mistakes.

    Trivial facts about my high school days...
    *I knew all of the words to "Roxanne , Roxanne"
    *I saw Purple Rain at least once a week while it was in the theaters
    *I was voted Most Dramatic in my senior class (I'm still wishing for that Academy/Tony award any day now...)
