20 Questions to Ask Before You Get Married!!! ![]() |
Things we have been talking about... 20 Questions (Well, not quite 20, but here are a few I was asked to answer for my DJ page...) Growing up I always wanted to be: An actress/singer/dancer, or marriage counselor Nicknames I’ve had: Lala (from the family) and Chaka in high school when I had some BIG hair I have always wanted to try: sleeping for 8 hours in a row, I hear it's heaven. :) I would love to have lunch with: The Dalai Lama, Simon Cowell, Barack Obama, and Prince My favorite TV shows are: The Sopranos (I can't stand violence and I still LOVE this show!) and American Idol..can't help it!!! 3 things I can't live without: My son, music, a way to learn something new When I am not at work I can be found: running around doing Mommy stuff The best thing about my job is: talking with people about things that really matter in their life, who they love, who they can't live without, how they see the world and why. And of course,,,playing music. :) Favorite artists or group: Prince, Chaka, Patti LaBelle. This is always the hardest question for me, because my list of what I love could go on for days!!!!! Favorite quote: "Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground" Jalauddin Rumi What's in your CD player: Either "The Time" Megamix from Michael Erickson or A "Music Together" CD from my sons music class. I cant remember which one. Favorite vacation spot: At the edge of the ocean anywhere or in a grove of redwood trees. Things that annoy me: People who are oblivious to how their actions affect others |
I've always loved music. When I was little I used to tape my favorite songs off the radio and played them for anyone who would listen. In 1987, I got my first job on the air. Two years later I got my big break at KMEL in San Francisco. I am especially proud of the work we did to bring awareness to the Stop the Violence movement. My favorite part about being on the air is playing dedications. I love to help create memories. My greatest joy is my son. I can't believe how fast he has grown already!!! ![]() My son when he was 2 years old People who have inspired me... Rev. Cecil Williams by his work in the community and his ability to bring people together. My high school drama teacher, Dave Motroni who gave me a safe place to make mistakes. Trivial facts about my high school days... *I knew all of the words to "Roxanne , Roxanne" *I saw Purple Rain at least once a week while it was in the theaters *I was voted Most Dramatic in my senior class (I'm still wishing for that Academy/Tony award any day now...) Musical Quote: "Making love and music's the only things worth fighting 4" Prince |

I think as of today just about every kid is back to school. Make it a great year everyone! (and thank you to all the hard working Educators!!!)
Well, this whole tour Madonna has (as usual) cause talk one way or the other. Now, in light of the tragedy in Colorado, a part of her show(a bit in a concert-goer video below) is drawing criticism. What do you think?
From the Huff Post: Maybe she really just doesn't read the news, but Madonna's managed to do it again: Despite being warned by police, the singer -- who named her album after a thinly veiled drug reference -- defied a ban and waved fake machine guns and pistols on stage at her show in Scotland on Saturday.
Her performance drew the ire of Mothers Against Guns, who said the 53-year-old singer "should know better."More at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/23/madonna-guns-concert-photos_n_1694766.html
When all the drama clears, I feel most for Michaels kids. Stability, communication, guidance and a whole lot of love. They need an extra helping.

I just saw this in the store and couldn't believe it was real? But they even have recipes!!! I just cant see this in my mocha...

According to a new Washington Post article, the office mean girl (or woman) is still very much alive. According to Cosmopolitan editor Kate White,82% of her readers agree that women have, in fact, gotten meaner. Selena Rezvani
wrote, “While workplace studies show women are routinely underestimated
compared to men, we don’t give much credence to the fact that women
hampering other women is also to blame….Many of us have witnessed the
man who comments on a woman’s hotness just as she leaves the room. But
what about the woman who criticizes another’s appearance (Did you see what she was wearing in there?) or frowns on a woman’s unapologetic use of power (Just who does she think she is?)?”
Woman-on-woman bullying has increased in the last few years as women
have officially become 50% of the workforce for the first time according
