Check Me Out...
On Old School SUNDAYS 3pm-6pm
Bio
Originally from San Diego, PJ Butta moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of La Verne. While attending college, PJ decided to start his radio career early. He landed a job on the street team at 92.3, then known as The Beat. While working at The Beat, PJ landed his first on-air gig at 104.7 KCAQ in Oxnard. His commute between both stations didn’t last long. In less then a year, PJ was offered an on-air position at The Beat… a position he would hold for the next 10 years!

Aside from doing weekends at Hot 92 Jamz, PJ runs a new music website, http://www.pjbutta.com/, and is a member of the Grammy Award winning production team and R&B/soul group, The Avila Brothers. You can find him DJing local clubs and internationally hosting the syndicated urban countdown show, The World Chart. He owns a Cold Stone Creamery in Puerto Rico and is a Radio/TV Professor at Mt. San Antonio College.  But out of all his many job titles, PJ Butta is most proud of being husband to Radio Personality, Nautica De La Cruz, and daddy to his baby girl, Brooklyn.

REMEMBER THAT VIDEO?
Each week I'll be highlighting an Old School video from way back that'll bring back some memories... some good and you might not want to remember lol.

From me to You: Thanks for all your emails saying how much you loved the video last week. If you'd like to share your video memories or suggest some videos email me at

REMEBER THIS VIDEO:

ERIC B. & RAKIM - PAID IN FULL
"I was hanging with my brother in-law at a bar in San Francisco and this came on in the juke box. Rakim has to be one of my favorite rappers of all time and this song is on my all-time favorite cassette. Enjoy"-PJ

Soul II Soul - Back To Life
"Whenever I come back from vacation I always tell myself, "Back to life, back to reality." And Soul II Soul is responsible for putting that saying in my head. This is one of my favorite jams. Enjoy!" -PJ

Hall & Oates - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)
"Ok I think I'm on a "cool white boys with soul" kick. Last time I posted up the Bee Gees video and this week i'm putting up one of my all time favorite songs... I mean this is one of those "Oh snap that's my jam" jams. Hall & Oates got their soul from their hometown of Philly which had alot of great soul music come out of there. I admit the video is boring but you'll be too busy singing along and dancing to even notice. Enjoy!" -PJ

Bee Gees - How Deep Is Your Love
"I just got back from NYC to DJ some clubs. I was at this bar in Manhattan and this girl requested some Bee Gees! I totally forgot about the Bee Gees! Of course I played it and she bought me a drink. Gotta love being a DJ. Here's one of my favorites off one of the best if not THE best soundtrack ever... Saturday Night Fever." -PJ

Babyface - Whip Appeal
"Nowadays it's hard for a music artist to sell over a million records there first week out. Rapper Lil Wayne is the first in like 3 years to do so. So you're probably asking what does this have to do with this week's vintage video? Well one of my favoprite songs on that new Lil Wayne cd is a song called "Comfortable" ftg Babyface. It's been awhile since we heard from Face so I thought I'd post up one of my favorite videos from him. So you see know how that ties in with Lil Wayne? Enjoy!"- PJ

Dru Hill - Tell Me
"When groups break up it's almost a guarantee that'll they'll get back together for a reunion. One such group is Dru Hill. Yes they are back and working on a new album. I remember I went on a high school tour with them and I was proud of how successful they got. I hope they make it back to the top. Here's the video for their very first song. Enjoy!" - PJ

Michael Jackson - Remember The Time
"Every male R&B artist wants to be this man. I mean Michael was THE MAN. And there are so many awesome videos by MJ. I chose this one because one of my good friends, Big Lez (who you may remember as a host of Rap City back in the day), is all in the video. You'll also see Eddie Murphy and Magic (go Lakers!) in this video. Enjoy" - PJ

"Lotta buzz for Usher's new album comin out May 27. I remember when I first met Usher when he was barely a teen at a Soul Train Awards/Death Row Afterparty. This is his first video. Look at how young 'The King' is lol. Enjoy" - PJ
