Ashley Judd's ex, Dario Franchitti, was involved in a scary crash when his Indy car flew through the air and into a catchfence, injuring 13 spectators at the Grand Prix of Houston.
Franchitti remained in his car after the last-lap wreck, which also involved E.J. Viso and Takuma Sato. He was placed on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center. Viso and Sato walked away from the crash.
Franchitti was later diagnosed with a spinal fracture, a fractured right ankle and a concussion.
The Houston Fire Department told CNN two of the 13 injured spectators were sent to local hospitals with minor injuries. The rest were treated at the scene.
Will Power won the second of two weekend races at Houston's Reliant Park Sunday.
